Artist Statement
My art is an exploration into abstract figuration / spatial abstraction and pure autonomism. When thinking about an idea for a drawing in terms of the compositioning and colour I often look at Modernist Bauhaus artists like Lazslo Maholy - Nagy for inspiration. I love the use of bold colour and strong lined architectural significance in his work. My work has a slice of wry humor in some of the drawing titles.
The colourful sphere's are an intrepretation of energy orbs; like lifeforce itself pulsating through small windows in the fabric of reality. Monochrome / coloured arcs act as enforcers of movement to carry the viewers eye around the work.
I use my time in the afternoons to draw and find the act of drawing a form of peace and tranquity. I hope you like my art.
